GMP Compliant
Good Manufacturing Practice Certification
- GMP means Good Manufacturing Practice which is a set of rules set by the Food and Drug Administration, mandated in the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA), which was passed in 1994.
- This keeps the standards for manufactured products - quality, safety and efficacy - at a certain level for consumers.
- All BioActive Nutrients specific products are GMP compliant.
What is GMP?
We've been asked many times whether or not our products are GMP compliant. The answer is YES! All our BioActive Nutrients' products have Good Manufacturing Practices Certification compliance, which means our manufacturer complies with the highest standards in the world placed upon them by the Food and Drug Administration.
The GMP standards have been accumulated by the National Nutritional Foods Association and NSF International, an alliance that encompasses a wide range of dietary supplement manufacturers. The GMP programs used by these organizations were set up by four industry trade associations and submitted to the FDA in 1995.
NSF International requires manufacturers, nationally and internationally, to meet minimum labeling standards and certification programs for food and drinking water. Meeting GMP standards means the consumer can be assured of quality, purity, accurate labeling, shelf life, dosage size, and excellent processing and manufacturing practices.
NNFA focuses on legislation in the nutritional supplement and health industry. They were a crucial factor in the passage of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act in 1994. This act effectively creates a balance with government regulators and consumers.
