Antifungal Kit for Allergies
Did you know about the good nutritional strategies you could use if you suffer from allergies?
Those of us who have allergies can have a really tough time any time of year.
We always have to carry a box of tissues around with us, we sometimes feel like we should stay indoors when everyone else is outside, and we may have even reached for medicines that keep us sleepy all the time.
A simple way to describe allergies is that you're hypersensitive to certain substances. Maybe it's from something you've eaten, maybe it's something you're breathing, or even something you've touched. Those substances are called allergens. When the immune system senses those allergens, it creates antibodies, which produce histamine and inflammation. Most medications tend to block the histamine, but those can make you tired. And allergy shots come with their own set of side effects.
To deal effectively with allergies, we have to start with diet. Incredibly, people who are allergic to things all the time seem to do well on Doug's Phase 1 Diet. It's Doug's contention that fungus is what is truly making our bodies so sensitive, and that the immune system is already on high alert from the fungus. Allergens just set off the symptoms. So if we keep the fungal load down, perhaps the symptoms will also decrease.
If this is true, a good range of antifungal supplements would be helpful. I like caprylic acid, olive leaf, apple cider vinegar, and undecylenic acid. Another thing I would do is take probiotics. If yeast has poked holes through the lining of the gut causing food particles to leak out and create allergy symptoms, then probiotics could really help. Several studies have shown that when people take probiotics consistently, they tend to have fewer allergy symptoms.
I'd make sure the multivitamin I was taking had plenty of Vitamin C in it. Recent studies confirm Vitamin C's ability to reduce histamine and calm symptoms. Vitamin B12 improved cases of allergic asthma. Zinc may help reduce chemical sensitivities. And the combination of Calcium, Magnesium, and Vitamin D also has helped to reduce allergic responses.
There are a whole host of nutrients that can help keep allergies from wrecking our lives, and if you'd like to know more about them, give me a call or visit the Antifungal Kit page.
