Healthy Weight Loss Supplements

Did you know that there are some great supplements you can use to help you lose unwanted pounds?

I've said it over and over that I'm no fan of stimulants for weight loss.

I think they can be dangerous for anyone, especially for people with heart conditions. I just think we should stay away from them. And as far as prescription medications go, we all know what happened years ago with the Phen-Fen tragedies. People died, and they just wanted to lose weight. I, personally, just won't risk the harsh side effects of a prescription weight loss pill.

So what can we do? Well you know I'm gonna have to start with diet. Doug's Phase 1 Diet is helping so many people with weight problems, and I highly recommend it.

I also like certain meal replacement protein powders on the market now. I'll have it in the place of a meal or two when I need to lose weight, and I eat Phase 1 for the other meal. Meal Replacement drinks should have plenty of protein and nutrients for long-term energy. They should also have fiber, to help keep the hunger pangs controlled. I blend mine up with berries and maybe some almond butter. It's so easy and so delicious, I don't even miss the normal meal.

There's a healthy fat you've probably heard of called CLA that may help with weight loss. Scientists now believe it works by increasing the number of calories we burn each day. Some studies even suggest it can work on days when you just can't make it to the gym.

You've also heard me talk about chromium picolinate. This mineral helps convert carbohydrate calories into energy, something we all need, especially when we're trying to lose weight. If those calories aren't converted to energy, they're simply stored, and that means we gain weight.

There's also an amino acid called L-Carnitine that works really well with chromium pic. Carnitine was first used as a heart supplement, but they found that people who used it also tended to lose fat. Just as chromium helps convert carbs into energy, carnitine helps convert fat into energy.

A good diet, healthy meal replacements, solid supplements, along with a great exercise program can go a long ways to help us win the battle of the bulge.
