Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Did you know that even though millions of Americans suffer with chronic fatigue syndrome, there is no drug therapy to cure it?

I'm not too surprised by this, actually.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, not only are there no prescription medicines available for it, there are no physical signs that identify chronic fatigue. There are no tests that can be run for it. There is no particular patient profile for this condition. And so far, there has been no official cause given for chronic fatigue.

And yet it seems my office gets calls every day from people who's lives are profoundly affected by a lack of energy, poor concentration, insomnia, and just overall weakness.

So what can you do if you suffer with chronic fatigue syndrome? The first thing I would do is stay on Doug's Phase One Diet as long as possible to see if fungus could be the cause in your case. In talking with Doug and recommending his diet for years, it is amazing the turnarounds we've seen simply when people change their diets.

If you find this is helping, you're going to need some antifungal support. Since yeast can really drain our energy, we need to fight back with things like caprylic acid, olive leaf extract, apple cider vinegar, and chlorophyll. You'll want a probiotic that is designed with an antifungal lifestyle in mind - one that has such strains as lactobacillus plantarum and reuteri. Both of these good bacteria have been shown to have great antifungal properties. And you'll need a good basic multivitamin and mineral complex to supplement your diet.

Beyond these antifungals, I would suggest a fairly new nutrient called D-ribose. D-ribose is a carbohydrate nutrient that is used by every living cell and is essential for our body's energy production. Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum published a paper showing that D-ribose significantly reduced symptoms in patients suffering with chronic fatigue syndrome. If you're always tired, this is good news.

So if you're suffering with this and you need to talk about your diet, your antifungal options, or using D-ribose, give me a call or visit the D-Ribose and/or Antifungal Kit web page.
