Stress & Insomnia

I talked to you recently about chronic fatigue syndrome and gave you a few options to consider if you're suffering from it.

Did you know that stress and insomnia could also contribute to your chronic fatigue?

We all realize the stress we're under; work, kids, bills, and other responsibilities can keep us tense all the time. But you may not realize how this constant stress stimulus can affect your health and your energy.

Anyone who has been to the cardiologist for chest pain will tell you that doctors are concerned how stress affects the heart. But another side effect of stress is it can keep us in "fight or flight" mode all the time. This means that our adrenals can be stressed and our bodies can't seem to recover from everything that's pulling us in different directions. The result? Even when were on the go all the time, it never feels like we have enough energy to really thrive.

Wouldn't it be nice to feel refreshed every morning, have energy for the day, and feel like we can handle whatever life throws at us? Well, I think we can.

I told you recently about keeping the diet strong and adding antifungals to our supplement regimen. I also told you about a nutrient called D-ribose that helps our bodies produce energy. These are a great start.

If you're stressed, you may want to add some extra support from herbs like valerian, hops, skullcap, and passionflower. These safe herbs have been used for centuries to soothe the central nervous system and ease tension. You can take these several times each day, or just when you're feeling a little overwhelmed. They may also help you sleep better at night, and there are no side effects.

Another nutrient to help with sleep is L-Tryptophan. This is a safe, natural amino acid that has helped so many people have a restful night's sleep without the dangerous side effects of prescription drugs. Make sure to take this on an empty stomach at night, and try taking it with B-complex to help it absorb better.

And the good news is...these nutrients can all be used together to give you a better chance for all-day energy and stress relief. Need some help putting these products together? Give me a call or visit the Stress Relief, D-Ribose and/or L-Tryptophan web page.
